::Art Gallery Hosts Food As Art Exhibit From Raleigh Chronicle Staff Reports Friday, July 6, 2007 RALEIGH - The Visual Art Exchange Gallery on Blake Street in Raleigh will be hosting a special art exhibit that centers around food from July 6th to 27th. Special art will be featured from artists that include Mary Kay Kennedy, Eric Saunders, Joe Sloane, DeShelia A. Spann, and many others. Two pictures at right show works from Linda Carmel and Lynne Clarke. Entitled "Food Glorious Food", the group exhibition of artwork celebrates the joy of food, cooking and sitting around the table with friends. The gallery explains that food has been a theme of visual art for centuries and it continues to be evocative to audiences today. "Come and see artists capture the waxy shine of an apple, the velvety texture of chocolate, the earthy aroma of wine," says the gallery. "Food Glorious Food won't spoil your dinner but may ruin your diet." The exhibition will feature work in all media and is open to the public.
