RALEIGH - The Raleigh History Museum on Fayetteville Street downtown hosted a VIP gala event last Friday, May 18th, 2007 in the museum's A.J. Fletcher Foundation Gallery.
The VIP Red Carpet Reception was held to kick off the Downtown Raleigh Home Tour that took place to showcase homes in the downtown area last Saturday.
The event was hosted by the City of Raleigh Urban Design Center and the LNR Property Corporation which is behind undertaking some of the historic Blount Street revitalization projects.
The event featured some of Raleigh's most prominent citizens who enjoyed each other's company along with food from Empire Eats restaurants at the museum.
The formal event enjoyed a beautiful night as arriving guests were welcomed to the museum which brought in large arrangements of flowers and other decorations for the event.
Attendees also enjoyed listening to historic theme music from the nine-piece "Swing Street" band.
Outside, a special tent was set up where patrons could check in and some even arrived by Rolls Royce limousine for the event.
The host, LNR's Commercial Property Group, operates as the real estate development and investment division of LNR Property Corporation, which is headquartered in Florida.
Editors Note: The Chronicle originally incorrectly identified this event as another museum event in the first posting, but we have corrected it. We regret the error.
